We are back from our road trip to the Redding area, way up in NorCal. We had a great time visiting with the relatives. I got to see my grandmother on the way up, she is recovering from a stroke. Hang tough Grandma!
A side trip from Palo Cedro to Burney Falls was a nice deal. We hiked down to the falls and took some pics and video. I will get some pics loaded on Wednesday. It was cold cold cold at the falls. Maybe in the 30s.
We got back late last night. The travel time was almost 15 hours. We stopped several times to let the kids play and us to visit. The new Nikon D50 performed flawlessly. I am in love with this camera. There is a bit to learn but the auto features and Digital Vari-Program settings resulted in a some good photos to work with.
Soccer great George Best has died. He had a storied life on and off the field. CNN has a wrapup. I remember when he came to the San Jose Earthquakes back in the old NASL days. I am sure I have his autograph someplace. We used to go to Spartan Stadium in San Jose a lot back in the 70’s and early 80’s to watch the battles.
Pat Morita has died also. Known as Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid he made me want to be a karate chopper for a brief moment! Wax on, wax off!!!
So we grubbed on the grub all day , I feel sluggish today but that is ok, it’s the Eating Time of the year!
It is raining here at the in- house. We are heading out after breakfast to a pet store. We have inherited a bird so we need bird tackle.
Ahh, so here we are. Turkey Day 2005. Time for a some food!!! Bring it on!
I finally, finally, scored a killer camera. I have been jonesing for about 10 years to have a sweet camera. Here is what I got: Nikon D50. I picked it up on Monday afternoon. It has a ton of features that I need to learn asap.
Gawd, I will never watch House again. Sarcasm works for a little while but jeez, overload the antagonist and you have a pile of drivel. The Office gets my nod for Tuesday night.
If you haven’t been reading blogging.la I highly recommend checking it out, especially if you are an LA residente!
Los Toros for lunch today. All good. If you are ever in Chatsworth and you need some killer diller mexican food head over to Devonshire near Jordan and try it out. Guaranteed to satisfy!
House, a tv show on Fox, is showing an episode tonight that focuses on a bike racer that uses performance enhancing dope. So far the show is not butchering a bike race too bad. There were a few shots of crappy old bikes crashing. I did recognize one guy that I race against in the SoCalCycloCross.org series. We’ll see how the rest of the show plays out.
I got crushed again in the Palos Verdes race this past weekend. The SoCalCycloCross.org series is a blast! Even though I am getting pummeled I am having fun. The last time I raced was 1999 so I am not even disappointed in getting my ass handed to me this year. It has been a hardcore season but I am gaining power and getting back some speed. The state championships are coming up on Dec. 3rd. It is going to be wild. Along with 3 other racers I came up with the same slogan for a cyclocross t-shirt design. “To Death Do We Cross” was the winning selection. All good.
In other news. Traffic sucked the dong this morning. There was a 4 car fender bender quickly followed by a motorcycle cop crash. This bullshit delayed me about 20 minutes.
I am planning a new podcast. The wife and I are going to get one going and see where it takes us. Rock on.
Dumbass Pat Robertson is claiming god’s wrath for a town in Pennsylvania that voted out a school board that backed intelligent design. Gimme a break you moron. Read about it.
Traffic was awesome today. I motored all the way to Chatsworth in 5th gear, no downshifts! How often does that happen? Rarely.
More killer SoCal weather today, partly cloudy 62 degrees. You gotta love it.
Cyclocross action this Sunday in Palos Verdes. Read more here.
