Floyd Landis is looking like a contender for the title this year. I think Phonak giving up the yellow was a good move. Defending the yellow this week is going to be tough for. Oscar Pereiro, the Caisse Depargne-Illes Balears rider will surely lose the yellow by tomorrow. Guaranteed. L’Alpe d’Huez is no joke. Look for some leaders to get crushed and a few lesser known riders make a name for themselves.
So, the French went down and Italy rolled to victory. It was cool. I can’t wait for the next deal in South Africa in 2010.
The big one is underway. No Lance this year but plenty of drama. Some top riders got yanked. It will end up in court. The organizers seem to be taking a guily by association stance. This may or may not work in court. We’ll see.
I am picking Floyd Landis and Levi Leipheimer to step it up for the Americans. I can dig George Hincapie’s effort. I hope he can hang in the mountains. If he can he can get a top 5 I think.
The World Cup final has been determined. Unless you have been lost at sea the mighty Italians are taking on France on July 9th. I am going with France. Zidane can handle anything as we have seen.
