In the 200 I set my PR – 12.61 and was the 4th fastest out of 8 riders. In the first round of the sprints I made a tactical error and got beat at the line – I just couldn’t get by this guy. I should have took off and attacked him but there was a little breeze on the back side so I hid behind him and it didn’t work out at the line. Next time I guarantee that will not happen.

In the Team Sprint I put together a team of one super fast guy and a pretty fast guy. I led it out from the start and just killed the first lap. They brought it home and we finished with a 1:14:99 in 3rd place. First place ran 1:13.39…second was 1:14:38 or so. We lost the championship by 1.6 seconds!!!! That 1.6 seconds will haunt me until next year. The Team Sprint is 1 kilo at that track so it was a very close race.

In the kilo I did a 1:20, my PR. There were 4 signups and one guy (the guy that beat me Sat. in the sprint) didn’t get to the starting line. I ended up 3rd.

In Pat Hogan’s 2km pursuit race he was up about 1 second on his competitor for the first 4 laps…then he faded and got beat by 8 seconds. He rode a 2:56 for the 2km. He got 3rd. His PR is 2:54 so he was right there.

In the 4km Team Pursuit one of our guys couldn’t make it so we recruited the guy that beat me in the sprint and we rode a 5:22 which isn’t bad for never riding together. Once again there were only 3 teams entered so we got 3rd. The 2nd place team ran a 5:08 which we could get to with some practice.

Now we’re looking forward to the Nationals in San Jose in Sept. That should be sweet!
