If you listened to Howard Stern today you know what I am talking about.
Well, really, down goes me! I was riding west on Ave N this morning on my Bianchi San Jose when I stacked it. The road is slightly uphill. I was going about 14 mph and ran into a small depression hidden in a shadow. This small depression in the asphalt isn’t really a pothole, it’s more of the asphalt sinking. The timing was bad – just as I was moving my right hand from the hood to the flat of the bar I hit the hole and instantly lurched forward. My right hand was reaching for and not finding anything but air. The bar turned right as I toppled to the right. My favorite Cannondale winter jacket has a giant hole in the sleeve. I could still use the vest part of the jacket since the sleeves come off. My arm warmer now has a vent and my right bootie is wounded. Crap! This was the first road pile up since 1999!!! A 10 year streak has been ended.

Dang – I just got done with a weekend project – painting the home office. We started early in the week and wrapped it up today. I need a drink.
