I caught most of Obama’s health care speech this afternoon. Driving to pick up soccer uniforms I listened intently. Several things rose to the surface as our president spoke. Dirty politics are wrong. The right-wing is struggling and it’s sad to see their tactics of lies and deception. I over heard an elderly couple at lunch the other day railing about Obama’s plans for health care. Everything they mentioned was pure drivel. Is that what the republicans are really standing for? Lies and deception? It appears to be the new tactic. I can’t stand to type this name, Sarah Palin. She had the gall to mention death panels in an op-ed piece of crap to the Wall Street Journal. This outright lie has been debunked many times yet a poll by Pew Research shows that nearly half of all republicans say that the Death Panels are true. She said that the Democrats plan to reduce health care costs by simply refusing to pay for care.
“And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s ‘death panel’ so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their ‘level of productivity in society,’ whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.”
“We agree with Palin that such a system would be evil. But it’s definitely not what President Barack Obama or any other Democrat has proposed.”
“We have read all 1,000-plus pages of the Democratic bill and examined versions in various committees. There is no panel in any version of the health care bills in Congress that judges a person’s “level of productivity in society” to determine whether they are “worthy” of health care.”
Hey, me again. I’m sure some of you with an IQ over 80 can see how this works. Palin fans the flames of discord for our president and her supporters stand behind her even though her claims are patently false and just plain bad politics. Don’t believe the talking head from Alaska. It’s a truly sad day when republicans have to resort to outright lies, lies, lies, to get their way. That’s not what this country was built on. It was built on hard work and determination to succeed. Don’t let the republican agenda take over. They’re willing to do whatever it takes to regain power. Look at what their power did to us in the last 8 years and decide for yourself who is for America and who is for their own selfish interests.
