The Rim of the World Rally went off on a cold ass day, May 4th 2003. The rally was a little different this year. No spectator stages and no ride-alongs. The venue was bigger than ever. The Pelona Vista Soccer Park was filled with all sorts of rally machines and people. The nippy air and rain kept some away but the hardcores stayed for the show. The start was short blast on a concrete service road. All we got to see were a few burnouts and almost everyone smashing hay bales on their way up to the main road. The Rally was called off on Saturday due to terrible course conditions. The Club Rally winner was Leon Styles. I got a chance to go on the charity ride last year with him. Damn, he can handle a car like a pro. Later.
